The Lost Clarinet - A Klezmer-Filled Adventure Through Jewish Heritage

Opus Nova, a Fort Worth based chamber music ensemble, led by Stas Chernyshev, Principal Clarinet of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, will feature soulful works that highlight the expressive power of the clarinet and violin. From the spirited folk influences of Klezmer to the poignant melodies of film and classical traditions, this program celebrates the cultural richness and emotional depth of Jewish-inspired music. The concert includes Béla Kovács’s homage to Klezmer legend Giora Feidman, a haunting selection from Schindler’s List by John Williams, and Srul Irving Glick’s lively The Klezmer’s Wedding. Also featured are works by Paul Ben-Haim and Roberto Mangani, as well as a virtuosic Concert Piece for two clarinets and piano by Mendelssohn, with a unique twist.

4:15-4:45pm - Reception, light refreshments. 

5:00pm - The concert will begin.
